What You’ll Be Doing:
You will be working as part of a supportive team, gaining practical experience on live projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting qualified surveyors on-site during inspections
- Helping to identify suspected asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in buildings
- Recording photographic evidence and writing observations using a tablet
- Learning how to take and prepare material samples for laboratory analysis
- Developing your understanding of safety regulations and industry best practice
- Communicating professionally with team members and clients
- Preparing for and completing your BOHS P402 qualification
The training you will be getting
- On-the-job training with experienced asbestos surveyors over a 6-month period
- A 2-day intensive classroom course followed by the BOHS P402 examination
- Training includes both academic and practical elements
- After qualifying, you'll be audited by our internal Quality Manager before progressing into a full-time role
- Support with key professional skills including communication, digital skills, health & safety, and problem solving
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- A permanent, full-time role as a Lead Asbestos Surveyor
- Salary increases to £23,000 post-qualification, and to £25,000 after your probation period
- A company vehicle and credit card for work-related travel and expenses
- Ongoing development and progression opportunities within the business
About You
Desired skills and personal qualities:
- Good communication skills
- Confident using technology (e.g. tablets and basic drawing tools)
- Self-motivated and reliable
- Attention to detail
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Physically fit (able to climb ladders and carry equipment)
Desired qualifications:
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) preferred
Future prospects:
- Long-term progression into senior surveying or environmental consultancy roles
- Opportunity to specialise in related environmental services with further training
Things to consider:
You must be based within reasonable travel distance of Heathrow / West London.
You must hold a full UK driving licence to progress into the qualified role.
About The Company
What They Offer:
- Salary: £18,500 during training, rising to £25,000+
- Hours: 8:00am–5:00pm (most days finish by 3:00pm)
