DescriptionThe Airside Performance Officer plays a key role in enhancing the safety, compliance, and operational efficiency of Ground Handlers, Third Party Service Providers, and other airside operators in accordance with EU and EASA regulations. The role involves using diverse data sources to proactively drive performance improvements. The Airside Performance Officer collaborates with internal Heathrow teams and the wider airside community and champions best practices.
Responsibilities- Ensure a continuous improvement approach is taken with performance of Ground Handling and other Service Providers working closely with Airside Compliance Officers, Safety Improvements and Investigations team.
- Supporting the Airside Performance Manager in shaping the ground handling environment at Heathrow by aligning teams and reinforcing HAL’s position among airport stakeholders. It involves contributing to performance strategy design and taking ownership of ground handling performance.
- In conjunction with accurate and relevant data, address performance issues.
- Reporting on and reviewing tasks and incidents which have an environmental impact on the operation, such as Auxiliary Ground Power (APU) usage, spillages, and engine ground runs.
- The Airside Performance Officer will support the Airside Performance Manager where required at Ground Operations forums, such as the Ramp Working Group.
QualificationsEssential Skills & Experience:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of the HAL client organisation, internal staff, airlines and framework consultants and contractors. To articulate complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
- The ability to analyse and present data and use it to drive continuous improvement
- Ability to operate effectively within their direct team and within a matrix organisation.
- A valid UK driving license and occupational health medical check to enable the successful post holder to obtain an Airside Driving Permit licence.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in ground handling or experience of the issues associated with working within a regulated industry.
- Working knowledge of the EU Ground handling directive.
