Description

Role Profile:

We are seeking a motivated, proactive individual for an Airport Experience Co-op Student position with the Halifax International Airport Authority. This exciting opportunity allows you to work directly with the Airport Experience Team to support inclusive passenger experience programs, terminal activations, and cross-functional working groups that enhance accessibility, OCOL and community connection within the terminal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inclusive Program Support: Support the delivery of inclusive and accessibility-focused initiatives in the terminal, ensuring programs and activations are welcoming, engaging, and responsive to diverse passenger needs.

  • Working Group Support: Provide coordination and administrative support to both the Airport Experience Working Group and the Accessibility Working Group, including meeting preparation, note-taking, action tracking, and follow-up.

  • Passenger Experience: Engage directly with passengers during activations and events, providing assistance, information, and feedback support to enhance the overall airport experience.

  • Collaboration: Work with internal departments and external partners to support the smooth delivery of programs and initiatives aligned with passenger experience, accessibility, and inclusion goals.

  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance, including documentation, feedback collection, data organization, and reporting on program, activation, and working group outcomes.

  • Event Coordination: Assist the Airport Experience Team in planning, organizing, and executing inclusive programs, terminal activations, cultural performances, and passenger appreciation activities that reflect the diversity of our community.

  • The phased implementation of a new volunteer program.

  •  Event planning and execution 

  • Set up and organization of our summer passenger appreciation programs

  • Set up for all cultural and performance in the terminal

  • Analysis of our airport experience & volunteer feedback results 

  • Participating in the Accessibility and Airport Experience working groups

  • Other projects as appropriate

 QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Enrolled in Business, Marketing or Tourism Programs

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English, with French considered a strong asset

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience working in teams

  • Must be solutions and detail-oriented, and resourceful in exploring new ideas

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for providing outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to function independently and as a member of a team 

  • Must possess exceptional networking skills

  • Ability to learn and apply new skills and knowledge

  • Ability to develop and maintain strategic working relationships with internal/external partners

  • Proactive and enthusiastic, with a creative mindset for enhancing passenger experiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deliverables 

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and online platforms including X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube. 

DETAILS:

  • Rate of Pay $21.00 per hour plus 4% vacation pay

  • Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week

  • Complimentary employee parking

  • Commencing May 4, 2026, to August 21, 2026
