The GSE Mechanic is responsible to diagnose, repair and service the Menzies fleet of vehicles and equipment in accordance with Menzies and manufacturers work specifications.
Main accountabilities include:
- To diagnose, repair and service the Menzies fleet of vehicles and equipment in accordance with Menzies and manufacturers work specifications
- Performing checks and registered inspections on equipment daily
- Responsible for performing mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance as per schedule on company fleet of equipment and vehicles.
- Respond to service calls.
- Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices of self and others.
- Ensure Menzies quality standards are being adhered to through use of daily & weekly registered checks.
- Plan work procedures, using charts, technical manuals, and experience.
- Liaising with the ramp team in order to maintain and enhance appropriate and preventative systems and programs for equipment.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments on equipment and its operations as well as ensure that all safe operating procedures are adhered to.
- Promoting and driving the MORSE ‘safety first’ culture through all levels of the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 310S or 310T Mechanic’s License with 2 years' experience
- Or a minimum 3rd year apprentice
- Provincial Driver’s license
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of GSE & heavy goods vehicles is an advantage.
- Ability to communicate & develop a good working relationship with various departments, airport authority members and managers at all levels.
- Computer literate
- Must be able to work any shift including afternoon, midnights, weekends & holidays.
