We are currently searching for an Airport Electrical Engineer-in-Training/Technologist in our Calgary office. In this position, you will work with engineers, technologists, and support staff to provide electrical services throughout Canada, with a focus on airport projects. You will design and commission power and automation systems including medium voltage and low voltage electrical distributions systems, airfield lighting, fire alarms, security systems. You will visit site as required to perform commissioning activities, inspections, and business development. You will also provide support to other members of our team while working in a collaborative team environment.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Applying electrical engineering principles and techniques to provide power, controls and automation engineering and design services.
• Assisting engineers in broad design activities and calculations (i.e. field electric centres (FEC), airport runway lighting, electrical distribution systems, and automation system layouts).
• Preparation of drawings using Auto CAD and Revit.
• Development of coordination and arc flash studies using ETAP software.
• Development of factory acceptance test (FAT) and software acceptance test (SAT) checking procedures.
• Assisting engineers with construction shop drawing reviews.
What you will bring:
• Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.
• 1+ years of related experience.
• Proficiency in using Autodesk software, including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Revit.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Committed team player, and the ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering design, including FEC, Motor Control Centres (MCC), power and lighting distribution panels, single line diagrams, lighting schedules and layouts is an asset.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution system analysis such as coordination and arc flash studies and ETAP software is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel within Canada.
