A vacancy has arisen for a Warrant Officer (A Eng Tech) to serve as 1 Flying Training School Military Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (Mil CAMO) Quality Manager at RAF Shawbury on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 25 May 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status).

The successful candidate will be responsible through the Military Continuing Airworthiness Manager (Mil CAM) and Chief Air Engineer (CAE) to the Aviation Delivery Duty Holder (ADDH), for airworthiness assurance for the aircraft under his control; for ensuring and assuring all airworthiness related activity, in accordance with the Military Aviation Authority (MAA) Regulatory Publications (MRP).  They will be required to:

  • Carry out the role of CAMO Quality Manager (QM) as detailed in RA 4951
  • Manage audit activity as directed within Part 2 of the Number 1 FTS Mil CAMO Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME). 
  • Carry out audits, including Self Assurance checks, Independent Audits and product sampling, and consequently produce Quality Audit reports in a format directed by the Number 1 FTS Mil CAMO. These audits are to involve a robust feedback system to inform the Mil CAM of audit results. 
  • Where findings are identified and issued, provide quality management advice to ensure root-cause analyses are carried out and that rectification action is acceptable for the closure of the finding. 
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the platform's Military Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (Mil CAME) to ensure it remains compliant with the requirements of RA 4943.
  • Support the 1 FTS Mil CAM & CAE(DDH) in their responsibility to deliver the Continuing Airworthiness tasks in accordance with RA 4947, and Baseline or annual Military Airworthiness Review (BMAR or MAR) requirements as defined in the platform Mil CAME, RA 4970 and RA 4971.
  • Monitor the MAA website/MRP and relevant command level orders as applicable, for new or updated regulatory instructions for Continuing Airworthiness and Number 1 FTS Mil CAMO related matters, highlighting any pertinent information to Mil CAM & CAE(DDH).
  • Undertake tasks as directed by the Delivery Duty Holder (DDH) / Military Continuing Airworthiness Manager (Mil CAM).

    Ensure direct links to the Delivery Duty Holder (DDH) and AM(MF) are maintained. This should be demonstrated at least biannually.
